While I am not a cross-stitcher myself, I thoroughly enjoy Jamie Chalmers's approach! He's quirky and fun while also being thoughtful and curious. The book contains many projects as well as interviews & samples of other fiber artists' work. It really feels like this book is both a how-to and a lily pad to leap from.
