These sweet thread bundles from Japan are hand-dyed using natural elements. Each label indicated what material(s) was used to dye the thread.

The size of the thread is equivalent to the thickness of one ply in a skein of 6 ply embroidery floss. Each bundle contains approx. 140 meters / 153 yards.

Because these are dyed with natural dyes, you can delight in the slight variations of color.

These threads are wonderful for temari ball making, mending, embroidery, quilting...whatever project would be enhanced by these wonderful threads.

A bit about NONA:

Nona means 9 in latin, and 9 is an incomplete number. Because it is unfinished, it is 'never ending' and 'continues forever.' This ties in to temari ball-making, which is what inspired NONA threads to begin. The idea behind NONA is that by connecting creativity with nature, one can be more present in their life. NONA also strives to entice makers with the process of dyeing with vegetable dyes in order to shepherd a renewed awareness of Japanese culture and multiculturalism.
