Yes this book is in Japanese but the pictures are so clear that anyone could recreate these incredibly darling projects. There are oodles of cute brooches to make from this book. Patterns are included but note that they're integrated with the instructions so tracing or using a more transparent stabilizer will come in handy here. There is also a stitch dictionary that uses photographs to teach each stitch. But note that if you already know a handful of stitches, you may find this component superfluous.
The author uses bits of felt to stitch on but I think a well-stabilized fabric could also make for some interesting results. Even if you lack the initial confidence to make these projects as pictured, this book is a great way to amp up your own creativity!
